Working with you, the NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau brings expert advice and support, established partnerships with local academia, business and industry, and extensive local knowledge.
We offer free and unbiased advice to any event organiser to make it easier for you to bring your event to our region.
We want your delegates to love North East England as much as we do, so those added extras that make an event unforgettable are really important to us. From arranging a welcome service for your delegates at key transport hubs and hotels, to helping you create a unique social programme or a bespoke tour, we’ll work with you to ensure your event is the best yet.
Our free services to you include:

- Taking care of all your accommodation requirements.
- Sourcing local suppliers and service providers.
- Arranging venue and destination site visits.
- Greeting your delegates with a ‘red-carpet’ welcome.
- Creating local entertainment and social itineraries for delegates.
- Event promotion, including social media, to boost delegate numbers.
- Access to local and national government advocacy.
- Introductions to local ambassadors, companies and stakeholders relevant to your field.
Conference Travel Card
We have teamed up with transport operator Nexus to develop the conference destination’s own dedicated travel card for delegates. The Conference Travel Card allows delegates unlimited travel on the extensive Tyne & Wear Metro system, Voltra 53/54 and QuayCity Q3 bus services and the Sunderland Connect services 700/701.
As an event organiser you can purchase the card on behalf of your delegates and due to its flexible nature, you can specify how many days you would like the card to be valid for, depending on the length of your event.
