International Society for the Study of Narrative Annual Conference | 2024

After a successful conference at Newcastle University, we caught up with Dr Stacy Gillis, Associate Dean (Education) at Newcastle University to see how the International Society for the Study of Narrative Annual Conference 2024 went.

Can you briefly summarise what your conference is about?

The study of narrative structure and form – the conference covers many aspects of narrative theory and practice, in numerous genres, periods, disciplines, languages, and media.

Why was Newcastle the perfect fit for this event?

We found Newcastle to be easily accessible via train and plane routes which was important for our international delegates. It was also perfectly placed with a mixture of city, beach and countryside in the surrounding area. It had large city amenities with small city feel, which is something we loved.
