Caroline Reed wins prestigious ‘Individual of the Year’ Award at 2023 miaList Awards

The winners of the miaList Awards 2023 have been revealed by the Meetings Industry Association, which recognises excellence within the Business Events industry, with a record year of over 150 entries.

NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau were up for 2 prestigious awards, with the whole team shortlisted for ‘Destination: Team of the Year’ and Caroline Reed for an ‘Individual of the Year’ Award.

There were 10 winners of the ‘Individual of the Year’ Award including our brilliant Caroline, highlighting her unfaltering commitment to going above and beyond in her role as Senior Manager of Business Events at NGI and the Convention Bureau.

From championing sustainable practices to driving the Conference Ambassadors Programme and making sure the region is at the forefront of discussions to host international events, and even taking leadership over the running of the North East England Tourism Awards, Caroline has consistently shown why she deserves this accolade.

A massive well done to Caroline and the team for their outstanding achievements. NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau secured 123 business events last year and over £1million worth of new enquiries, with the sector worth approximately £149m to the regional economy.
