Newcastle Quayside hotel nears completion

A new £25m hotel on Newcastle Quayside is set to open by the end of the year as building work nears completion.

The 161-bedroom INNSiDE Hotel, operated by Melia Hotels International, marks a significant investment for the region and will create 80 jobs.

The hotel will include a range of events space, with five flexible meeting rooms capable of holding a combined 170 people banquet style.

Other facilities in the seven-story hotel include a feature bar, restaurant and river terrace, and fitness lounge.

Scott Brown, Director of Sales UK North at Melia Hotels International, said: “We’re looking forward to opening our first development in the exciting and vibrant city of Newcastle. Our meeting spaces will be really flexible and able to cater for a range of different events, as well as providing a great location on the banks of the River Tyne.”

Paul Szomoru, Director of Business Events at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, added: “We’re really excited to welcome this international brand to NewcastleGateshead and add to our already impressive accommodation and event venue offering. The opening of INNSiDE Hotel will bring jobs and investment to the region, at a time where both are much needed.”
