One of the largest conventions in the creative industry is heading to Newcastle in 2023.
The Creative Cities Convention (CCC) is a unique meeting place and one of the largest events – outside of London, where content creators and leading industry figures can network together and discuss their thoughts on the future of the screen sector.
Taking place 26th and 27th of April, the event will have an exciting schedule of sessions and activities reflecting the boom in film, tv and digital production that’s underway across the UK.
The Creative Cities Convention (CCC) will be held at The Boiler Shop, and delegates can look forward to a mix of industry interviews, panel discussions, meet-the-commissioner sessions and more.
Jen Rea, Head of Business Events and Travel Trade at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, said:
“We’re delighted to be hosting the Creative Cities Convention in the North East. It will be an incredible opportunity to bring industry experts together to share knowledge and best practice, as well as showcase our vibrant and ambitious region to delegates.
“This is an emerging industry for us within the North East and we are at the beginning of the journey with partners such as the BBC and North East Screen in building, nurturing and expanding the sector. The CCC will no doubt be a catalyst in spotlighting the region as well as create opportunity to build relationships and be part of important conversations within the industry.”
This year, the convention will be extended to offer a full afternoon of sessions and an evening networking party on the first day and then another full day of debates and discussion on day two.
The CCC team will be working in partnership with North East Screen to deliver the conference and with the North of Tyne, South of Tyne and Tess Valley Combined Authorities, who have together formed the North East Screen Industries Partnership to rise to the challenge of growing production across all genres.
