Promoting NewcastleGateshead virtually at The Meetings Show

This week the NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau attended The Meetings Show 2020, which was run as a virtual trade show instead of the usual live, in-person event which takes place in London each year. The Convention Bureau team were joined by local audio-visual production specialists, The R&B Group, promoting their virtual and hybrid events services, Events Northumbria from Northumbria University Newcastle and The Crowne Plaza Newcastle Stephenson Quarter.

Paul Szomoru, Director of Business Events at NewcastleGateshead Initiative, said: “The Meetings Show 2020 was an invaluable opportunity to make new connections and to re-connect with old friends and clients of the NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, albeit in a virtual online environment instead of live and in-person, which we all miss so much. It certainly showed that this is a fantastic industry full of passionate and innovative professionals. The education sessions were brilliant, with a huge amount of content looking at how best to approach hybrid event delivery which merges virtual and live events.
