The importance of wellbeing and good mental health has never felt more pertinent in today’s conferencing world. The long, busy days (often away from home) can lead to burn out and stress. In NewcastleGateshead, there is an array of activities you can introduce into your programme to support your delegates and help prioritise their mental and physical wellbeing.

20 minutes outside of the city centre delegates can access the North East of England’s picturesque coastline. Enjoy the health benefits of cold-water immersion and and relax by the log burner, sharing stories and great food.
Six miles north of Newcastle, explore the sustainable practice of foraging without having to dive into the depths of the countryside. The Cramlington Forager guides the group through woodland, meadow, and hedgerows in Cramlington to delve into the incredible abundance of wild herbs and their medicinal benefits.
The experience lasts for around two hours and attendees are encouraged to bring comfortable footwear and a waterproof jacket.
Ensure your delegates are taking care of their mental health by hosting a Mindful Morning Meditation at the coast. Delegates will be guided through techniques to help quiet the mind, relax the body, and embrace a calm, centred state. Set within a serene relaxation tent with a wood-burning stove, this one-hour group meditation is perfect for managing stress, refocusing, and feeling more grounded.
Embark on a tailored cycling adventure through Newcastle’s vibrant city and serene parks, where delegates can explore at their own pace. This private tour offers an in-depth look at the city’s iconic sights and hidden treasures and is an active way to engage your delegates.

Through Roman history, industrial heritage and art from the region and across the world, delegates can escape to another time and place. With 12 museums and galleries across the North East of England, North East Museums offer delegates the chance to shut off and unwind by exploring fascinating exhibitions and events, showcasing art, history, science and culture.
Encourage delegates to move their bodies whilst they are here. With five parkruns in Newcastle and Gateshead, there is a variety of community-based, inclusive runs that can be used as an alternative to alcohol-based social activities.
