Look out for the ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard

As the events industry looks forward to reopening in October, we are encouraging people to check that venues are ‘Good To Go’ before heading out, visiting an attraction or planning an event.  

The ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard and supporting mark means businesses across the sector can demonstrate that they are adhering to the respective government and public health guidance, have carried out a Covid-19 risk assessment and check they have the required processes in place.

VisitBritain and VisitEngland are running the UK-wide industry standard and consumer mark to provide confidence for consumers within the tourism and events sector. The scheme is free to join and open to all businesses across the sector.

To obtain the mark businesses must complete a self-assessment through the online platform including a check-list confirming they have put the necessary processes in place, before receiving certification and the ‘We’re Good To Go’ mark for display in their premises and online.

Paul Szomoru, Director of Business Events at NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau, said: “It’s brilliant news that conferences, exhibitions and events can be held from October. The ‘We’re Good To Go’ industry standard has been introduced to give consumers the confidence to go out and start enjoying destinations again, whether that be organising meetings, going out for dinner, visiting an attraction or going on a short break.

“We would encourage everyone to look out for the ‘We’re Good To Go’ standard when planning future days out, visits or events.”
