Independent Networks Cooperative Association Conference 2017

In November 2017, over 200 members from across the UK travelled to the North East of England for INCA’s highly regarded annual conference.


INCA members are building the new digital infrastructure that serves our communities and businesses with modern 21st century communications. They host many seminars, conferences and other events across the year and have built a formidable reputation for the quality and value of their events programme.

Previously held in ExCeL London in association with Broadband World Forum 2016, INCA headed up north to the Crowne Plaza Newcastle – Stephenson Quarter for its 2017 conference.

Why did you choose to bring your conference to NewcastleGateshead?
We alternate INCA annual conference between London and other locations and this location worked well for most of our delegates. Newcastle City Council hosted the conference. We had good feedback on the location and ease of travel as well as the city council support.

How did NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau support in the organisation of your event?
Carly was a fantastic support in helping me to view venues that could accommodate our needs. She went beyond my expectations on knowledge and support in the run up to, and on the day itself. The support we had for our delegates, in booking accommodation was also useful and beneficial – it made my life easier as well.

Did you come across any difficulties when organising the event and how did you overcome these?
The main issues I had were having to change dates a few times and the size of venue for the number of delegates we planned. But again, Carly was helpful and supportive throughout the whole process.

Would you recommend NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau?
I can highly recommend NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau and would not hesitate to tell others how impressed I am with the service, I still can’t believe it’s a free service. I would use it again next time I am organising and event in Newcastle. The team were always very helpful and professional. Carly’s knowledge and professionalism are second to none. Her knowledge of the venues, geographical locations and her time taken to learn about INCA and how the event was to be executed was impressive. Also on the day the team had a hands-on approach which was very much appreciated. From concept to execution they were helpful and professional – I can’t rate NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau highly enough!
